Never Say Die

This is a true story which I dedicate to a fellow blogger who is still to come to terms with realities in life after suffering personal losses, with the fervent hope that it gives out a resonant message.

About fifty years ago, a very prestigious horse race was be held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course. In the field was an oddly-named horse – “Never Say Die” – a rank outsider in the bookies’ reckoning. In fact, in his preview prior to the race, Pegasus, a noted writer with The Times of India, had remarked that if this horse were to win the race, the rest of the field would need to literally drop dead!

Well, guess who won the race? Yes indeed, believe you me!
